HAYS MIDDLE SCHOOL HAWK CHOIR
Welcome to the Hays Middle School Hawk Choir program. Our school opened in the Fall of 2019 as the third middle school in the Prosper Independent School District.
The approximately 230 students in the choir program participate in three UIL choirs: Lyric Treble, Cadence Treble, and Hawk Chorale. Additionally, our youngest choristers participate in the 6th grade choirs. All of the choirs maintain a high standard of excellence.
Meet the Directors
COURTNEY WILSON
Courtney Wilson! Ms. Wilson is very excited to begin her 8th year of teaching middle school! She is new to Prosper and spent the last 7 years teaching in McKinney, Plano and Garland.
Ms. Wilson grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and earned her Bachelor Degree in Vocal Performance from Northwestern State University and her Master of Music Education from Southern Methodist University.
In her free time, Ms. Wilson enjoys online shopping and going to the dog park with her dogs, Duke and Stella!
CATHERINE STEWART
Catherine Stewart is overjoyed to be joining the Prosper ISD secondary choral team as the assistant choir director at Hays MS.
Ms. Stewart grew up in Allen, Texas, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Baylor University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Choral Music Education. Fall 2024 will begin her 2nd year of teaching. During her time at Baylor, Ms. Stewart was a member of numerous choirs and organizations, including the A Cappella Choir, Chamber Singers, and Bella Voce.
In her free time, Ms. Stewart enjoys hiking, yoga, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.
