Rock Hill High School choir members have the opportunity to enroll in private lessons on campus.

Heather Sharp is excited to enter her 22nd year as a Texas choral music educator. This fall, she will assume the role of Head Director as she begins her 5th year at Rock Hill High School. Ms. Sharp is currently pursuing a master's degree in Choral Conducting through the summers-only program at Texas State University in San Marcos. She holds a bachelor's degree in music education from The University of North Texas and an associate's degree from Volunteer State Community College located near Nashville, Tennessee.
Born in Texas, Ms. Sharp spent many formative years in Uniontown, Maryland and in Nashville, Tennessee before returning to the Lone Star State. She graduated from Midway High School in Waco, Texas where she sang under the direction of Patrick Vaughn. After college, she taught middle school and high school students for eight years in Richardson ISD where she was honored to be named the RISD Secondary Teacher of the Year in 2008.
Ms. Sharp went on to serve as the Head Choir Director at Klein High School in the Houston area from 2013-2021. During those years, she was the music director of four campus musicals, experienced online teaching/learning through the COVID years, and served as the TMEA Region IX Vocal Chair for one term. A teaching position in Kaufman ISD allowed her to move closer to family in the Dallas area and eventually led to the opportunity of joining the collaborative Fine Arts team at Rock Hill High School in 2022.
Ms. Sharp is a member of TCDA, TMEA, and is an active member of TMAA.
