Rock Hill High School choir members have the opportunity to enroll in private lessons on campus.
Joshua McGuire holds a master’s degree in Choral Conducting from Louisiana State University and a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Western Illinois University.
Originally from Illinois, Mr. McGuire taught at the middle school and high school levels in the Chicago area. Previous to Rock Hill High School, he was the head director at

Originally from Illinois, Mr. McGuire taught at the middle school and high school levels in the Chicago area. Previous to Rock Hill High School, he was the head director at Sachse High School (Garland ISD) for fifteen years.
Mr. McGuire is a member of ACDA, TCDA, TMEA, TMAA, and Pi Kappa Lambda. He recently finished a two-year term on the Texas Music Educators Association executive board as Vice-President and State Vocal Division Chair. He is a 2026 candidate for TMEA President-Elect.

Heather Sharp is pursuing a master's degree in Choral Conducting through the summers-only program at Texas State University. She holds a bachelor's degree in music education from The University of North Texas and an associate's degree from Volunteer State Community College.
Born in Texas, Ms. Sharp spent many formative years in Uniontown,
Heather Sharp is pursuing a master's degree in Choral Conducting through the summers-only program at Texas State University. She holds a bachelor's degree in music education from The University of North Texas and an associate's degree from Volunteer State Community College.
Born in Texas, Ms. Sharp spent many formative years in Uniontown, Maryland and in Nashville, Tennessee before returning to the Lone Star State. She graduated from Midway High School in Waco, Texas where she sang under the direction of Patrick Vaughn. After college, she taught at the middle school and high school levels for eight years in Richardson ISD. She was the head director at Klein High School in the Houston area for eight years, where she also served as the TMEA Region IX Vocal Chair for one term. She taught one year at Kaufman High School before moving to her current position in Prosper ISD.
Ms. Sharp is a member of TCDA, TMEA, and is a provisional member of TMAA. This fall, she began her fourth year as the Assistant Choir Director at Rock Hill High School in Prosper ISD, where she just completed a two-year term as Fine Arts Department Chair.

Nicholas Patys, a tenor from Plano, Texas, has just finished his master’s studies in Voice at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, having earned his undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance from Oklahoma City University in 2022. Nicholas auditioned for and was selected as first chair to the 2018 TMEA LSC Mixed Choir.

Mr. Patys is still deeply involved in choral music, as both a regular staff singer at St. Rita Cathlic in Dallas where he was the tenor soloist for Handel’s Messiah in 2024, and Ramirez’ Missa Criolla in 2025, in addition to being a Schola member of the chorus at St. Marks School in Dallas.
